A lawyer by training, he previously served as a Member of the Maldives Parliament, where he chaired key committees and led the drafting of the country’s current penal code. His leadership roles extend to board appointments at the Bank of Maldives PLC, a vice‐chairmanship of the Maldivian Traders Association, and membership in the Maldivian Chamber of Commerce.

A passionate advocate for good governance and the power of education, Mr. Hamza remains a trusted advisor to both public agencies and private institutions. He earned his LL.B from the International Islamic University Malaysia and an LL.M from the International Maritime Law
